Bregenz is the regional capital of Vorarlberg, where three countries meet: Germany (10 km), Austria and Switzerland (15 km), with the Pfänder mountain behind you and Lake Constance at your feet.

A sight worth seeing is the upper city, the oldest part of Bregenz, with the emblem of the Martinsturm (tower), the largest onion dome in Europe. One gem and tranquil spot is the baroque church of St Gallus.

Energetic holiday makers will find three different golf courses within a 30 km radius (Bad Schachen, Weissensberg golf club, and the Riefensberg golf park), along with a tennis court with indoor courts, about 500 m away. Also: jogging, Nordic Walking and mountain bike trails, starting from the hotel. The Schwärzler Hotel is the starting point for leisurely walks, a trip on the Pfänder railway, or a boat trip on Lake Constance. What will interest young and old is a visit to the Inatura in Dornbirn, the land of games in Ravensburg, Germany, and summer tobogganing in Bizau.
