Vorarlberg museum
SITUATED BETWEEN LAKE CONSTANCE AND THE CITY CENTRE, THE NEW VORARLBERG MUSEUM IMPRESSES BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE KUNSTHAUS AND LANDESTHEATER, THE VORARLBERG MUSEUM ADDS THE FINISHING TOUCH TO BREGENZ’S CULTURAL MILE.
The architectural masterpiece created by the Bregenz architects Cukrowicz and Nachbaur-Sturm impresses with its striking exterior design, among other features. The artist Manfred A. Mayr contributed concrete flowers to the design, which were cast in commercially-available PET bottle bases.
The museum sees it as its task to collect, maintain and research the art and culture of the region. In addition to its strong connection to Vorarlberg, the museum also presents content from elsewhere in the country and abroad.
